At Massage by Melissa I work with many high risk clients. Clients who are elderly, have cancer, a compromised immune system, autoimmune diseases, etc. It's important to me that I go above and beyond to ensure the highest level of cleanliness and safety for them, for myself, and my family.
COVID may not have a high mortality level, but it does have the ability to cause serious illness and long term issues. At best it has the ability to create immense inconvenience for my clients, my family, and my business when we are required to quarantine, my kids get pulled from school, I lose income for weeks, and my clients and their families face the same.
I have instituted some changes to help mitigate the risks and to help keep my clients safe.
*As of 8/1/2021 masks are once again requested due to rising COVID cases in our area.
*If you are a new client, please print off and fill out the Health History and Policies and Procedures Forms located under the tab "Forms." I will have forms ready in case you're unable to complete them before your appointment.
*Hand sanitizer is available when you enter the room.
*I will be wearing a mask as well, and will also wear an apron that's changed between clients.
*As always, all sheets, blankets, towels, and the face cradle cover get changed between clients.
*Also as always, I use a hospital-grade cleaner on all surfaces touched by my client or myself, and let them soak for 3+ minutes (per the instructions for my cleaner).
*For many years I've had a waterproof, breathable barrier between the sheets and the table heater/extra padding on the table. This allows me to spray down the table with my cleaner, without having to give up those little luxuries that make the table so comfy.
*There are many other small changes I've made to ensure your safety that you probably won't notice. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to ask.
If you are under the weather, please reschedule your appointment. Massage by Melissa reserves the right to turn you away at your appointment time, and you will still be held liable for payment of your session.
